"They broke down the Berlin Wall for freedom and unity. Kahled Said got killed for the same reason, for freedom and democracy. Khaled would be very happy if he was with us today. We will not forget you Khaled and we will bring your rights back. And we will bring every Egyptian's right back. We are all Khaled Said!" Zahraa Said Kassem

This is a project by Don Karl, publisher and co-author of the book "Arabic Graffiti" & Hip Hop Stuetzpunkt Berlin - in collaboration with The Dudes Factory (Freedom Park) & Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation.

09.04.2010 | THE EXCHANGE | Vernissage | Book release party
COMMON GROUND GALLERY | Hip Hop Stützpunkt

It was a full house as Berlin’s graffiti elite came out to support The Exchange exhibition at the Common Ground Gallery. Acclaimed graffiti collective The Exchange present their dynamic style dialogue with a group exhibition to mark the release of OTR book #8, The Exchange. The book like the exhibition is jam-packed with expert style antics as members trade sketches and rock diverse styles outside of their usual comfort zones. Don’t miss the chance to see this visual style assault up close and personal. The exhibition runs Monday to Saturday until April 23rd.

NEW YORK CITY Black Book Masters | PART ONE | Book signing events New York City

Despite the terrible rain and winds on Saturday the 24th October 2009 the book signing for the new OTR series at Revolution books went down with a great turn out (man, even the New York City Police Department Vandal Squad detectives were outside checking it out). Many great writers from the New York came out to celebrate with Ket and Part One including Noc 167, Lava 1 and 2, Doc TC5, Snake 1, Nic 707, Chain 3, Riff 170, and Peso 131. Andy Z from Revolution books gave a great speech on the need to continue to paint in spite of the cops being outside and always out to get us. Many books were sold and signed and people were able to get many TDS signatures in their books.

Stuttgart / Cologne

Thanks goes out to all who supported Part One on his European tour in the last few weeks. Part enjoyed a full program jam packed with exotic locations, metal action, black book sessions, new friends and that good old Hip Hop community vibe. So thank you to everyone who contributed to making it all possible – from the organizers to the fans.

25.09.2009 | PART ONE - The Death Squad | Vernissage | Book release party
COMMON GROUND GALLERY | Hip Hop Stützpunkt

... at Common Ground Gallery was a great success. An impressive collection of new work, drawings and canvases from PART ONE, along with photographs from his '70s and 80s train days' archive lined the walls. Around 400 people came by and a good time was had by all. DJ Marc Hype spun some fresh tunes while PART ONE signed books and mingled with the crowd. The beer flowed until about 3am when the last guests went on their way. For those who couldn't make it to the Vernissage
never fear the exhibition is open daily from 2pm – 7pm until October 9th 2009.
